Inclement Weather During Meets
Events will proceed during rain unless limited visibility causes us to take a weather delay.
We follow the City of Liberty's lightning alert system; if lightning occurs within a 10-mile radius, we will take a 30-minute weather delay to allow weather to pass.
If weather (e.g. rain or lightning) causes a delay, after a maximum of a continuous hour of delay the meet will be cancelled. An all-clear must be received within the hour for swimmers to re-enter the water; at that point, the clock resets. A second (maximum) one-hour delay may be permitted. A third delay will result in cancellation of the meet.
If rain is forecast for a meet, relays will be omitted; only individual events will be completed.
If rain causes cancellation of a meet but events through number 35 have been completed, the meet is considered a full meet and will not be considered a cancellation.
If weather forces cancellation of two regular meets, a make-up meet may be scheduled the Saturday closest to Independence Day, rather than using that as a bye week. The make-up meet will not include relays.
