Practice Policies
- Daily attendance at practices is encouraged when possible to better develop skills and endurance. However, we recognize that summer is a time of travel and varied commitments for many families. Please contact the Team Manager or Head Coach if you have questions about your availability, or for special scheduling conflicts/circumstances.
- If your swimmer will miss practice for a prolonged period (vacation, camp, etc.) please communicate with the coaches ahead of time.
- If you have a schedule conflict with your regular practice time and you’d like to make up missed practice(s), please discuss with a coach. Swimmers may not attend a different practice time unless given prior permission. Morning swimmers may attend morning practice at a different time. Late afternoon and evening swimmers may attend morning practice. Afternoon and evening practices have limited space, so those aren’t a make-up option.
- Safety is our biggest priority on deck. Please allow coaches to coach during practice. Talk to the Team Manager during practice, or save questions for coaches until before/after practice.
- Practice will be canceled if there is lightning. We will do our best to communicate that prior to practice when possible. In the event of rain or cooler temperatures, we will still practice; please use your own judgment about attending these practices. Dry-land workouts may be provided indoors for swimmers 13 & up in the event of inclement weather. Afternoon and evening practices are indoors, and will not be canceled for weather.
- Swimmers must bring goggles and water bottle to practice every day. Please purchase goggles with dark lenses (UV protected) for your swimmer, and have a spare pair.
- Swimmers should generally avoid dairy immediately prior to practice.
- Swimmers may wear a LSST team cap or unaffiliated cap for practice.
