Meet Info
- If your swimmer becomes ill and cannot swim in Saturday’s meet, please text the Team Manager (Ashley McCarthy 816-914-5292) ASAP. When swimmers do not show up for their commitment, it affects up to six other swimmers.
- Prior to check-in, write your swimmer’s events on their forearm in permanent marker where they can see them. For example, for event 11 heat 2, 25 free, write #11 H2 25 free. Do not include lane number.
- Girls’ events are odd-numbered; even-numbered events are boys’. The ten-place value in the event number corresponds to stroke; the unit-place value corresponds to age group (i.e. 11, 21, 31 are all 8 & under events.)
- Meet check-in is at 6:00 AM for home and away meets. Please make sure your swimmer checks in at the sign-up sheets on deck.
- During the meet, listen for announcement of your events. Swimmers should report to the clerk of the course when their event is called.
- After swimming an event, all swimmers should check in with a coach.
- Please consider donating a bag of Starbursts for coaches to distribute after events.
- Please do not approach stroke and turn judges with questions about disqualifications; please ask a coach.
- Medley relay order is back, breast, fly, free.
- Individual medley (IM) order is fly, back, breast, free.
- Spectators are only allowed on the pool deck if they are volunteering or if their swimmer is racing.
- After warm-up, swimmers are not allowed in the indoor pool.
- Meets are more fun when you come prepared! Bring the following to meets:
- a spare pair of goggles
- an extra towel for your swimmer
- sunscreen, hats, sunglasses
- snacks: carbs, fruit, protein bars. Avoid heavy foods and dairy.
- plenty of water and/or sports drinks for you and your swimmer
- chairs, blankets, etc to hang out comfortably on the grass between events
- small games and activities to entertain your child(ren) while they wait for events
- Tents may be set up the morning of the meet. Per the City of Liberty, tents set up the night before will be removed.
- Do not park on Blackberry Street heading towards the neighborhood; you can get towed. There is additional parking in the middle school parking lot.
- Heat sheets will be available for sale at the concession stand, cash only. Heat sheets help you keep track of which event number we are on and when your child swims.
- Your swimmers will receive ribbons in their mailboxes on Monday following each meet. Mailboxes are a box of file folders, organized by last name, and will be with the team manager.
